security alarm goes off by itself

lately, the alarmis going off by itself. the car is locked in the parking lot and just goes off. any ideas?

Are you within vicinity of the vehicle? Do you accidently unknowingly hit panic on the key fob inside your pockets and don't know? Its the first time I've heard of this issue on any Nissan.

SAME DEAL WITH MINE. 2001 PATHFINDER....AT WORK AND AT HOME....KEYS NO WHERE IN SIGHT! I THINK THE WEATHER WAS DAMP BOTH TIMES! HELP!!!!!!

i have seen 2 things cause this on nissans, 1 is a bad remote and 2 is a door out of alignment. on the first case people tend to claim the hazard lights flash and doors lock at random while driving down the road. on the second case customers tend to also state the dome lights flash or the door ajar light flashes while driving.

I have a '93 G20 that has the same problem. The alarm seems to go off randomly and I think more so when it is damp (although not always). I had the car checked and the mechanic says there is no problem with the battery, contacts or the alternator. However, this problem seemed to start after I had my battery changed. So, any suggestions on the possible causes and fixes are really welcome.

Check the hood pin switch for the alram you could of pushed it down a bit when installing the battery so that when the hood is closed it bearly opens the switch. Any amount of moisture will make it have contact.
