I am a newbie to this forum, and I have a newly acquired 2011 Rogue SL, it has both the factory security system on it and the previous owner installed a aftermarket system with remote start as well. The car has started to chirp at odd times, mostly at night (very annoying). The tempature has dipped down into the low 40's here and the other morning the temp gauge was flashing. I shut that off thru the settings, but I am still getting the chirp now and then. Does anyone have any idea of what may be going on. Does colder temps affect the security system? If this topic has been previously covered I could not find it, I apologize for any redundancy.
Thank you for your help or info.

There is a visible indicator that shows a snowflake in your center display if the outside temp goes below 378F (38C) flashing-temprature-display-t566676.html but there's no audible warning or chip when it's displayed.

Without knowing the make and model of the aftermarket security system, there's no way we can tell you if it has a temperature warning or not.

Thank you for your information, unfortunetly there was no paperwork with the vehicle to indicate the make & model of the aftermarket security system. When I figured out that the aftermarket security system was on the vehicle I took it to an alarm system dealer here and was told that it was an expensive system that was added, I didn't ask the make & model, I may take it back to him for some more help. I turned the temp indicator off so it would stop flashing. Again, thank you for your help.

It could be the field sensor of the after market alarm sensor.
I have a viper 5901 installed and I added the field sensor (to test it, sit in the car, arm, wait for 1 minute (don't move), then start moving inside. If the alarm went off, then its the field sensor.
If you do have the field sensor installed, for some reason, the electronic inside the Rogue interfere with the field sensor, so sometimes it will false alert (depend on the setting).
most alarm has a bypass function which allows to arm without the warning so it won't chirp but will activate full alert if the zone is triggered.

Took the car to an alarm dealer and they couldn't find anything that was causing the chirping, I had them remove the entire aftermarket system. So far 2 days now and no more chirps, now that the vehicle is back to factory specs, if it happens again it will go to the dealership for them to diagnose and repair. Thanks to all who contributed.
