Section 8 comes out Tuesday so is anyone getting it? I'm thinking about doing it...the more I learn and see about this game the more excited I get about it. I would like to play the demo but it's only for the Xbox.

Not here. Played the demo and while it wasn't actually bad, it just felt generic. Nothing very outstanding to set it above the other shooters coming out this fall.

Keep in mind that I'm not referring to the quality of the demo as that often will be different from the finished product. I'm talking about the genre and feel of the game which never is very different between the demo and release versions. Its got a very heavy multi-player feel to it and I've got the feeling that its single player mode will be very short.

While this seems popular with a lot of players it also seems to be a way for developers to throw some skins on a engine, put a little bit of single-player content in a game and then ship it to market feeling very rushed and poorly thought out.

I certainly wouldn't buy it at the typical 360 price point of $60, not with games like ODST, OF: Dragon Rising, Assassins Creed 2, Forza 3 and potentially Alpha Protocol (I've casually optimistic about it).

There hasn't been a multiplayer-oriented shooter I've really enjoyed since UT2k4. Modern shooters try to be TOO clever and TOO "groundbreaking" and it ends up getting in the way of the fun.

Actually, speaking of multiplayer shooters, I've been playing Quake Live (basically Quake III played in-browser and it's FREE) and having a blast. To hell with Section 8 and Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2. Quake is a million times more fun than all of them. There's NOTHING more satisfying than lining up a scopeless headshot with a lightning gun or railgun or crossbow from across the map. I rock so hard with UT2k4's lightning gun.
