The Nissan marketing department is pleased to present the 2012 Nissan GT-R Video: A Promised Fulfilled. This video was specially developed for the U.S. market and tells the evolutionary story of this truly iconic Supercar. Get excited! There are significant changes for the MY12, including the 3.8L V.6 twin-turbo charged engine that now produces 530 horsepower (vs. previous 485 hp) and 448 lb-ft torque (vs. previous 434 lb-ft), the improved aerodynamic performance from the redesigned front / rear fascias and rear diffuser. This redesign resulted in a 10% increase in downforce and a coefficient of drag (Cd) reduction to 0.26 (vs. 0.27) at the same time fuel economy improved to 16/23 mpg (vs. previous 15/21). Follow GT-R Project Chief Officer, Kazutoshi Mizuno and the GT-R team to Germany’s legendary Nurburgring, considered by many to be the toughest, most tortuous racetrack in the world and watch as the enhancements made to the MY12 GT-R proves its worth by shattering its previous recorded lap time.

The 2012 Nissan GT-R Video: A Promise Fulfilled will be deployed via email to current GT-R customers, GT-R handraisers, GT-Academy participants, and current 370Z customers. To view 2012 Nissan GT-R Video: A Promise Fulfilled, click on the following link:

And yet there's still no real manual gearbox. If it was designed for us Amurikans then they would know that we don't like those stupid flappy paddle gearboxes, and frankly I don't really care if the automatic can shift 15% faster than I can, a manual gives better feel and driver control of the car.
