I have always been worried about my s13 being stolen, it doesn't have an alarm, and i go to school in downtown cleveland oh. and once your car gets stolen it gets a salvage title. and its not like the insurance company is going to give you what your 240 is worth( to you at least).well with that intro, here is my solution, its for manual 240s only
(note: i will probably re-do this write up with a new unit because mine is busted to s***, because i wasnt careful)
i wanted something that looks oem and functions well.So i decided to use my A/C switch on my HVAC unit.First off you want to remove the unit and open it up. be careful, it breaks easily(trust me) heres a good write up to show how to take it apart( i wish i would have read this earlier)zerothread?id=282768 once you expose the circuit board locate the terminals for the A/C switchi circled the terminals, you should get your multimeter out and check you have the right ones.once your sure you have the right terminals, by checking continuity when the switch is on and off, get your soldering iron out and a good length of wire. i used wire from an old xbox controller i had laying around, but you can use any wire that isn't too thick. it doesn't matter what wire is on each terminalafter i soldered the wires on the leads, i taped a piece of paper under the wires to make sure they didn't touch any other point on the circuit. now you can seal up the unit and run the wire out the back
now for the "kill" part. i decided to use the clutch switch because without this connection the starter wont spin.you can still have you car in accessory and have power to everything. also you can start your car with out having the clutch pushed in
the clutch switch is located where clutch stops
With everything wired up you can test it out. you car should only start with the a/c button pushed in.im thinking about using all the buttons and having a sequence of buttons to be up or down for it to start.
