so i lucked out and got a gsxr ITB for cheap (its on the way)

now i notice that along with the vac lines for MAP reading, it also has injectors on it.

now, using a gsxr fuel rail and a little plumbing seems not too difficult, im starting with a PowerFC, but i plan to move to either a haltec or SDS (for MAP & better pc interface)how difficult would it be to program secondary injectors to work correctly under boost with either an SDS or haltec?

just thinking out loud now.. what about using the ITB injectors for boost-dependant alcohol (isnt that about how a wet nitrous system works?)

With a controller and a wideband, I don't see why it would be an issue, but man that is gonna be a LOT of fuel. What are the impedence and flow of the injectors?

dont know yet, this ITB came from a gsxr 600, but theres a few factors depending on which way i go with it and what my options are

normal fuel: would mean keeping the injectors i have (havnt bought bigger injectors yet, seeing what i actually have first if they arent stock) and then just adding more fuel under boost (this would be instead of getting big deal injectors)

or

alcohol: a: would mean a secondary cell+pump + FPR for alcohol into the ITB injectors

b: running the alcohol/fuel mix from the normal tank and splitting onto both fuel rails (and see if either the z32 or allegid r32 fuel pumps i have can keep up

note: running straight alcohol you run about twice as much at gasoline somewhere around 7.5:1 is your stochiometric A:F ratio.. if you would use 500cc injectors with gas, you would need 1000cc for alcohol to run the same, blowing thru your fuel twice as fast, but having a much higher resistance to detonation

and according to everything ive read, to physically *run* alcohol, all you need is to kill any rubber in the fuel system (lines and injector rings), then tuning it is a whole seperate ball of wax

i wouldnt get into the secondary injector/alchohol route, the seconday injectors are a sloppy/oldschool way for tuning/adding fuel, and alchohol tuning is a pain/expensive, and you always got to have alcho fuel laying around to run high boost if you want replacing lines etc, head damage from alchohol

also, more things to go bad and expenses, get yourself some 720's and plug up the injector boss' in the GSXR ITB and go from there, less headache, easier to tune, less money.

I am totally sticking on this mod to my car.. i gotta pull this one back out the closet.

its a possibility, all im saying, im looking into all the options that this new part open up for me

but im redoing all my fuel lines with braided stainless anyway, and this is my toy/project car, so if i dont have alcohol, then i just dont drive it.. (ethanol is $1.25/ gal around here if you get a 55 gal drum) but then that should be the benefit of having a standalone, being able to load up 'alcohol fuel map' 'gasoline fuel map' or whatever else.. you run a haltec, cant you save and load maps whenever you feel like it thru a PC?

btw: guess this means you arent selling your EMS or the tomei head/kit anytime soon, eh?

ive seen kits for adding secondary injectors to engines.. isnt it supposed to let you have a normal idle and low end and make tuning easier before boost?

edit> and being expensive isnt really a concern... i look for deals, be patient, and buy the good/expensive stuff when i have to. if i need 3 days of dyno tuning, then so be it, ill end up with a variable fuel system

also, note: ford is advertising that they will have 250000 07 model vehicles that are ethanol compatible.... that should mean that we will see ethanol pumps at gas stations within the next few years

Nice idea, just find a way to tie in low fuel level in the alky tank with some sort of boost reduction or boost cut.
