I've removed all my emissions in my car and the only thing that I have left is the secondary butterly valves. i noticed it is vacuum operated. would removal of the emissions affect the butterfly valves? should i leave it attached to a vacuum source? or remove it completely?

I would remove it completely, plug the hole from the rod, and no more butterfly's, less resistance in the manifold.

Doesn't that decrease your torque in the low rpms? There must be threads on this.

yes i belive the loss of torque was between 1k and 1.5k rpm'sbut even so its not a major loss / slightly noticable tho.

ive removed all my vacume lines other then the one that operates the fpr and just left the secondary butterflies open for the time being and have had no problems with it.

Does the increased top end make up for the marginal loss at such a low rpm?

no noticable top end gains from what i can tell but in the end with them disconnected its just one less place for a vacume leak and one less mechanical part to fail and give u problems down the road.

I was thinking of removing them for just those reasons. Thanks for reinforcing the idea.

I think you are describing the actuator for the butterflies.
