I posted first in the original "I Thought I Heard Transmission Rattle This Morning" and if any of you followed that I had my 2008 AWD Rogue trany replaced at 7500 miles for the infamous rattle.

Well, 8000 miles later they have replaced it again. The same noise reappeared, although not as loud, but the car was absolutely running terrible. It would not accelerate normally, acted like it wanted to die and basically ran like crap!. I just got it back this morning and for the moment it seems to be running better, but I have only driven it about 10 miles. I will post more as I drive.

The next step for me if I continue to have these problems is persue the Lemon Law. This is absolutely ridiculous. Yes it is covered by warranty, but I will not own a vehicle that needs the transmission needs replaced almost as often as the oil. I refuse to believe that I am so unlucky as to have two faulty transmissions, there has got to be something else going on. Anybody else with a replacement having problems???

Really sorry to hear about your troubles.

How soon after the first transmission was replaced did you notice something wasn't right? Did it run like crap almost from the beginning or take the entire 8000 miles before the replacement transmission started making noises and the car's performance went downhill?

I'm asking because it would be good to know if the signs indicate this latest replacement CVT may act differently and perhaps even run as it is designed to do! Now that you have more experience, if there are still underlying problems maybe you can get it back to them early so they can fix it properly. I'm sure if the CVT continues to burn out that there are other problems causing this, perhaps some components of the AWD system, who knows but the Nissan techs have to do a better job of uncovering the real problems or else buy the car back and give something that is not a lemon.

I never really felt it was "right" even after it was put in. That being said, with the one that was so bad before I didn't know how it was supposed to run.

It has progressively gotten worse since it was installed. First with the noise (which was never as loud as the first) and then the problems of performance started to surface about a month ago. The "new" transmission was installed in August 2008. Pitiful, I am wondering if there are other mechanical problems that are leading to the transmission problem. Who knows???

I am having my third transmission put in next week, car bought 3/2008

I was told alot of the 08 Trannys had problems but the 09's no longer have this problem.

I did pursue lemon law but unfortunately they gave my car back 2 days before the limit.

If you call 1800 Lemon Law, you may be able to open a case. These folks helped me tremendously.
