Second mounting point on the AEM CAI...

When I installed my HID kit on my V, my friend that installed the ballast on the driver side in the exact place where the second mount point goes for the AEM CAI.

A few weeks later (Sept. 6) and when I came to the step where I mount in the second mounting point, I notice I can't even do that.The HID ballast is in the way, yet the intake is now very snug and tight and not moving whie driving.While i drive I hear a very slight slight rattling and I'm wondering if its just how the intake sounds and also if it would be bad?

your CAI could be tapping the ballast while idle, so you might want to either move it or put something in between them to stop the noise... or just rearrange everything altogether...

Yeah I was thinking that...but...would the tapping do anything bad?I will eventually get around to moving the ballast to another point, but....HAHAHA im so glad I got the CAI finally lolololol

mine is exactly like that with the hid and cai. I put a small peice of foam tape where the hid and cai were touching. Solved the problem instantly and didn't have to move anything.

i would mount the HID in another location...just becaues i would make your engine bay look cleaner. There are several places you can put it just have to look around.

The main problem I have is that I'm too lazy to take off the bumper...lol ;pbut I'll try and looking for anoher place to mount the ballast.thx
