Ok, i threw up a poll for kicks, but in maybe a year or so i plan on getting a second car. the s13 is turning into a race car too fast and i just dont know about having to depend on it as a daily driver once i start engine work (ha! ill never be done with suspension...). anyways, i am so confused about what car i want. not that other ppl can decide for me, but im not too knowledgable about these choices, sooo maybe ppl can give some insight. <inhales> here's what im thinking....oh, btw, im looking at sub 3000 cars. hopefully.91ish G20. probably the most practical. i heard they handle well enough, and are reliable. datsun Z car. actually 70-72 240z. least practical hahaha but most cool. i really want this one but i dont know if it makes sense at all. older and lighter than the s13. hmm. winter? wisconsin? argh...NA mazda FC. mmm yeah. kinda a baby step up from my s13. newer than a Z, more expensive...AE86. twin cam? eh whatever. i dont know if i can find a good one for 2grand. then again, 4 season daily driver? bahh im an idiot.i also am giving a shifty eye towards an early VW GTI. lastly, another s13 is very much in the cards. but i already have one and want something different.as u can tell, i dont seem to be looking for a dependable daily driver but another toy. blehh... what do u think?ps- any insight on life w/ a 240Z would help extra much :D

-Enzoand the next car will be....

well, a 240z for under $3K is one that will need a lot of work. I'd avoid that as a daily driver. I used an S-13 as a commuter for years. Very inexpensive, reliable and fun, but it does suck in snow. If that's not an issue. then from your list I'd go S-13, then G20, followed by AE86, then GTi. I have no idea what an FC is. With Early GTi's gotta watch for rust in the floor plan, plus they're a little expensive when they break. AE86's are reliable and peppy, but they're ugly.

How much are you willing to spend?

You don't want your beater car to be as fun or close to as much fun as your project car. This is because your most likely going to dump money into it for "minor" improvements and then get carried away.

Out of your list....I would go with G20....but if you have money to spend...I would get a Maxima.

As always, I'm partial to the B13 SE-R as the ultimate daily beater. :D

The G20 was rated one of the top 10 handling cars in its day. You cant go wrong.

early 90's pathfinder! Tow your nissan race car with another nissan :D

Choices 2-4 would definatly NOT make good daily cars. Too small/old.
