Hey, my friend Sarrah fell in love with my cars while I was in CA, and now she lives up in the Seattle area. She's been looking around, and needs some help finding good cars in the area. She really wants a 2+0 Automatic. Color isn't really an issue. Want the most reliable for the money. Price is an object, so lower would be better-er.

Thanks in advance doodz.

She up north or south of Seattle? Cory is usually able to help with finding a car. I am usually pretty busy but if there is anything south she finds and may be interested in i could probably take a look at it.

That was the one that she posted to me, but I don't like it. Missing fan shroud, and they didn't replace the water pump while the radiator was out. Not to mention if the water pump is bad, then the timing belt obviously wasn't done, and that makes it about 17K miles overdue.

Se should pop in here pretty soon, but Des Moines is the town she's in. I don't know exactly where that is.

I'm actually in Burien. But close to Des Moines. I go back and forth between the two pretty often.

ya that yellow one has really bad pictures, I'd be suspicious of anyone selling a car that cant take decent pictures of it.

almost 200k on it as well. I would say most car's are probably going to be due for a 60k service unless there is receipts and the timing belt sticker.

Well welcome to Washington, Sarrah!
There's plenty of Z's around here, we'll find you something decent in no time.
That yellow one looks rough, I think I'd keep looking elsewhere.
Do you have a general drop-dead $ limit you can share?
Here's a decent looking possibility, dark green color and auto as asked:

And, my preference if you have the extra $ as this looks and sounds like an auto Azure gem:

Thanks DCaff300ZX! :)
Both of those Z's are very nice, but a little out of my price range. I see a lot on CL that are going for $3500+/-, but I am looking to not exceed $2,500. I honestly do not care If I have to do a little bit of maintenance or spend a few hundred bucks to fix it up. I am a decently mechanically inclined female and do not mind getting my hands dirty, especially if it is going to be worth it (which I'm certain that it will be). I also do not mind traveling a little bit too. I found this Z on CL in the 541 area code of Oregon, which I am slightly familiar with.

I would really like to get some input on it. I know that it says something about the head gasket, so I will be contacting the owner to ask about some more information.
Thanks for helping me out everyone!

Oh god no not that one. Torn front bumper, and head gasket pretty much means tear the entire engine apart (which looks like has already been done. Good luck finding all the bolts). It's a huge PITA, and honestly not worth the time or effort. You'll be picking up someone else's project, and that almost never ends well. Not to mention we tend to shy away from JDM engines here. There's so many red flags on that car that all I can say is no. Don't worry, there are awesome cars out there for the price. Just gotta find them.

Here's one in OKC for 2500... no pictures posted though. If all it needs is a starter and a window motor though, I can have both of those swapped out in a couple hours.
http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/3693575561.html

Also, if you're willing to look at Z31's, there are a couple for pretty darned good condition out here within your pricerange.

Thanks Ace, but I don't even know whens the next time I'm going to be visiting OKC this year. It's gonna be a while. And it could be gone by the time I can visit. :/

Gotcha Sarrah, those two stood out early and now that I know your range we'll see what we can come up with!
Sounds like you're good with Oregon, they do have a decent amount of them down there as well and there's no sales tax...hint hint.
Maybe you can talk this guy down, this car looks pretty straight and clean for $3,500:

AHHH! The purple one is back on CL! http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/3699459106.html
I want to try to talk this person down to at least $2500 if they'll take it.

I do like that. It looks extremely clean. I could try to talk them down, but I really don't want to talk him down when I could talk this person down to $2,500: http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/3699459106.html
It has a bit of cosmetic damage, but it's something I'm willing to look over.

That DPM is beautiful! It could use a few touch ups but sheesh! Sarrah, you should try and talk the seller down.

Funny, I was set to include the 2+2 but when I re-read Ace's post he said 2+0 so I didn't do it...but good choice, I like the color of course and it doesn't look too bad really especially if you can talk him down.
Good luck, Sarrah! :dblthumb:

I just received an email from the owner. He lives in Everett. It's a little far for me, but I'm gonna meet with him on Saturday.

I also put up an ad: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/3701326218.html
And I already got 2 emails back also.
The first one if from a guy named Manny:
"I have a 1991 300zx with 106,xxx miles that I have for sale. I havent posted it up on craigslist because I dont think its ready for me to sell it. The engine, Auto transmission, and suspension are all in good shape. The only thing thats basically wrong with the car is that it will need a paint job since its been sitting for so long and it has a few dents. It has remote start, low miles, and everything works. If you want some more info feel free to text me or give me a call at"
(I'm kind of worried about this one looking reall bad because it's been sitting, and the possibility that it runs, but not well because it's been sitting.)
And the second one is from a guy named Juan:
"hello there ihave a blue 1990 300zx z32 non turbo auto transmission with 99k miles on it has lambo doors,18 size wheels, engine and transmitions are in good condition dual exaust which sounds really mean (i love it ) it was my project car i bought the car about three months ago for 38hundred but i will let it go for 2500 if ur still interesting for a car like this one let me know my name juan you can reach me at this number"
(The only thing I am worried about is the Lambo doors. Not only would it be a head turner, but to me it would put that car higher on the theft list.)

Input, preez and spank you!
Thank you everyone for helping out!

I would pass on both of those, the lambo doors on the one I am sure is only the start of what is wrong with his. The other sounds risky as well as it could be an electrical mess with the mention of remote start and sitting so long. And o would love to get that DPM from you some day should you get it :)

Agreed with the lambo door car, you just don't want to go there...but I think I'd take the chance to check out the '91 if it's in your price range just in case it's not too bad to clean up, and as he does claim, everything works.

Dunno, I'll message her. I don't think so yet though.

I'm pretty sure I'll disown her if she doesn't get that DPM though.

EDIT: Though if that is a TT, then that is an amazing deal and I'll forgive her if she gets that one instead of the DPM.

Not TT, but the interior looked good with new seats and so if it just needed 120K or something like that it could be a sleeper deal.
