SEATS breaking???

Ok... anyone else have their DRIVER seat in their 89 240 totally rip from he hinges??? GOD i cant take this car anymore man =0( ive spent more money towing the car then i have actually fixng it up... its getting too hectic... i dunno how you guys do it.. i love my 240 to death.. but... i think i gota move on until i can afford the total project... anyone else have seat problems? anyone know god places in south fl to find seats?(new or junkyard):mad:

there are tons of 240s with seat problems, its extremely common unfortunately... : (

Is this just an S13 problem? Is it a proble with the seat, or the holes they bolt into? Go to a junkyard and try to find some S14 seats, we get them occasionally by me.

No mine broke two days after I got my 240 so Ive just learned to live with it. It has the "gangsta lean" look. While im driving holding onto the steering wheel to stay up and looking like a granny driver. Its cute.

i paid 35 for a new/used seat an i let my friend use it at work not two days after i installed it an it broke again now i have a brace holding it up from the back seat >> dont get rid of the 240 they may have prob but its worth it in the long run

Here is a Fix for you problem

The S13 240sx seats share the same bottom and back cushon, so they can be swaped with each other.

direction (from my shaded memory)1st -pull both seats out2nd -take the back off both seat, leaving the bottom and bracket that hold the back on together.3rd -take the back from the driver seat and put it on the passenger seat bottom, and take the passenger seat back and put it on the driver bottom.4th -put the seats back in the car, and test it out.

yeah but if you swap the two front seats you now have a borken passenger seat that is worse then a drivers seat cause then you cant use the one back seat someone has a chance at sitting it plus its ghetto id rather pay the money to do it right an if i had 1000 or so dollars id put in some racing seats

you can almost buy a Ca18 with the money it cost for some sparco seats they are like what 650 -750 a seat screw that

anywhere from $200-1500 for sparco or recaro's.

OK, ok, then get the K-mart brand of sparco seats.

Well, if you just replace the seats with 240SX stock seat, the're just gonna break again, what else are you gonna do?

the passenger seat works the same as it did before

the back part of the s13 seat only bolts on one side driver side the left passenger side the right

so if the driver seat breaks, the left side monts are only broken, not the right side that the passenger seat uses. because the passenger side bolts to the right side. same for the passenger side, the back bolts the to right side but the driver seat will bolt to the left side.

when i get home i will make diagram showing what i am talking about.

and yes i would like to have some sparco fully adjustable racing seats, but i have other things i am going to by first. and wanted a seat that i didnt have to feel like i was laying down in.

Jrc your right i just realized that man i remember now when i took off the seat back it was only really held on on the left side it would work! thanks for the correction i would rather have a bucket for a seat then a kmart seat does kmart even sell seats ?!?! hope not
