I have read somewhere that Nissan has a lifetime warranty on seatbelts for some of their cars. I believe that later models were given about a 10 year warranty on them, but I am not certain if that is accurate or not or just which models the did that to. Any rate, I made an appointment with my local Nissan dealer to have my driver's seatbelt checked out, as it does not want to fully retract at the tensioner. When I get out of the van, the belt can sometimes get caught in the door, as it remains extended and dangles at times. I saw a video or two on doing the repair for yourself, but with my luck, I'd just muck it up and not be able to get it back into place properly. I'll find out if they article I saw was accurate or not when I take it in for evaluation tomorrow. Our state has state inspections and the seatbelt operation is part of it, so I'll have to have it repaired or replaced anyway, regardless. I am hoping for some good news and coverage on the belts tomorrow. My van is a '99 model, so we shall see what happens.
