Hey there,

In May I posted several questions regarding my Q, and I found out that it was coding with a Seat Belt Pretensioner Fault, so I just was pulling them out to send them in for repair, and I saw that the passenger side seatbelt pretensioner was disconnected, so I reconnected the cable, and the code disappeared. The thing is though, both seatbelts would quite frequently lock, is it possible that one of the seatbelt pretensioners being "faulted" would cause both to constantly pretension? Just trying to figure out if I still need to send it in for a repair despite the code not appearing any more.

It was totaled, with frontal and side damage, airbags did deploy.

I really have no idea... are there any self diagnostics available in the factory service manual that you can perform without Consult? www.infinitiservicemanual.com

I know that most times when the airbags deployed, the airbag module usually had to be reset/reprogrammed (look at eBay for some descriptions). If you don't do this procedure, the airbag light will be on even though the airbag might have been replaced.
As to why anyone would disconnect the pretensioners, I have no idea. Maybe the belts became a little too touchy like what you are now experiencing? :gotme
The salvage title vehicles I have been around either have locked up belts, non-locking belts, or belts too sensitive to braking forces.
