Hi, i have been trying to find information on this problem but with no luck.

i have a 91 240sx and the auto seatbelts work correctly.. only problem is the car doesnt think i have them on. In park or driveing the light will come on, chime, and go off eventually..if i move the light comes back on.

Besides the wire under the drivers seat leading up to the lap connector, is their any other wires for the seatbelt check system? how do i stop this from chimeing and lighting up.. its getting really annoying. Any help appreciated.. thank you.

Welcome to the forum. Most likely problem is a failing electrical contact for the seat belt sensor. You could try taking your "female" buckle parts apart and give them a light sanding and cleaning them with alchy afterwards.

Also, at one point I bought this great stuff called electrical contact cleaner at radioshack. Works wonders with just a quick spray and wiggling the components together. It's suppose to help keep corrosion away too.

Good luck

were talking the female part for the lapbelt..or the auto shoulderbelt?

From what i see the only electrical on these belts is in the lapbelt 'female' connector.. am i correct?

if so how well would cutting the 2 wires and twistin them together work out?

I'm pretty sure mine dings for the shoulder, aka choker, belt. In theory, connecting the wires should work. If you wanted to test it, make sure you cut with enough wire on both sides to put them back together if it doesn't work

I had this problem awhile agoo. It turned out whoever the previous owner of my car put a keyless entry and overtime it had a loose wire. so check all ur wiring in the doorpanel that goed intoo the latch.

and also if u cant figure it out on ur own. Nissan has LIFETIME warranty on these auto seatbelts. so u can get new rails and controller and seatbelt latch for ZIP.
