Hello list,

I did a search on Q45 seats & I'm aware of reupholstery/recovering costs. But, how about junkyard seats from a 94-01? 02>?

My seats as well as the leather itself is a little beat down, maybe I could kill two birds with one stone?

TIAJason

PS, great group you guys have here.

The trouble would be finding those seats in good condition at a junkyard..... I have a feeling youd be hard pressed to find somethign

Id be interested to see what you can come up with..... Im in the same boat as you, and the new G35 seats are really nice.... Id like to get some of those and put it in the Q, but I dont think thats gonna happen......

All those run-drenched sunbaked junkyard seats are torn to shreds or dry and hard. Give up now, pay the price, and have them redone. :(

Hey Jesda,

I'm not looking to save money, I'm looking for a newer seat with less arse miles that's not compressed, tired, hard & torn to shreds like my fronts are currently.

Having mine recovered would result in a nice *looking* but flat tired seat.

I just sold a 98 F150 with beautiful junkyard 2002 Eddie Bauer leather seats/console, those floorpans were the same 97-02 (Expy) & 97-03 (F150). The truck came with a cloth bench but the buckets bolted right in.

I'm looking for platform info if anyone has some.

ThanksJason

I cant tell you anything about that, but I know that you'd be able to have the seat re stuffed for a minimal price..... It would definitely be worth it.....

Im sure there's another infiniti NICO owner near you..... Best thing you could do is just get out and take some measurments..... Look at the wiring harnesses, and see if its gonna be adaptable.......

PS...... There's a NICE set of 97Q seats on ebay right now!!!!!!

My guess would be that the 90-96 would fit, but beyond that you're looking at a different platform completely - so it's doubtful.

Decisions, decisions. Maybe I should look for a recently wrecked 96 & recover them down the road when needed.

thanksJason

I may be getting a new set of seats here soon (from a wrecked Q), so I'll sell you mine..... Front seat bottoms are a little rough, but seat backs, and the rear seats are in near mint condition... They have seat heaters!!! :D

Thanks, but I'd prolly like to get some that aren't ripped to start with.

There's a set of 94's on ebay now that are just up the road from me in Jacksonville, but seats aren't a priority at the moment, unless I get a real good deal.

I know of a set of bone white seats from a '91Q that are suppose to be in "excellent" condition here in Los Angeles. I never got a chance to inspect them personally as I'd only consider get them for myself if the seller would let them go for really cheap. His asking price is around $500.00. That's a bargin if they are as good as he claims they are. I'll dig up the guy's contact info if anybody is interested in dealing with the extra cost of shipping and a long distance purchase. Just email me.

In my bias opinion, the 90-93 seats are preferrable to the 94-96 seats because they seem more durable and unique. It seems that Infiniti has brought back a similar design with the FX45.

In don't know how some of you guys, (like Fred), have been able to get full reapposter jobs for under $1000. I've been told that the leather itself for a front seat would cost around $300. The labor to replace the two side panels on the bottom of one seat cost me $50 and I supplied the leather from a parted out Q.

I've heard of redoing the seat bottoms for the driver's seat being as "low" as $350, P&L. Thats why my passenger seat (interestingly, in much worse shape) will be done in vinyl. Shouldnt be over $130. Passengers do nothing but add weight. Screw 'em! :D

Those guys are Katzkin leather. This is a company I have always heard very good things from. I'll be looking into doing this soon. Wes, you can always go with the original look.

Well, the seats I was eyeing down on ebay were taken..... :( Theres a set of 97Q seats, I wonder if they'd fit..... So I guess Ill see what the people at that one website can do for me!!!!

If you get some pricing, let me know.....

Is the way they work they give you the seat covers and then you have them installed???

lol elwesso, *that's* why you were conspicuously covert about the nature of your source for *your* new seats.

If the 90-93 are more desireable like my 91 SE-R seats were, then I guess I'll stick with them.

Did I mention I found out I needed a new window motor to go along with my new window regulator today? Cha-Ching! $390 list, ouch, it'll be in tomorrow. (public service announcement)

Well I sent a quote at autoleathers just for kicks and giggles, and according to the pricing guide, its 1149 installed... :eek

Thats 1/5 the value of the car!!! No way I can afford that!
