Anybody know of direct bolt-in replacement seats for my 94 Q? I was thinking 300ZX or 350Z, maybe? Any input is appreciated...

Paul, Lino, Heath, Wes, speak up!!! I know one of you guys knows at least one...

Well I called up a Nissan Dealer so they can cross reference the part number because they are the ONLY ones that have the ability to do so. They said no there are no other Nissan/Infiniti vehicles that use the same seat rails.

You could get Recaro seats like Ozzie had.

Z seats I think would seem very small in Q45. Find a good tuck and roll guy and get at least the drivers seat re-covered. While it might run you a decent chunk of change for leather recovering the original seats you'd keep all your power seats and setup. I think that will not be significanly more then new seats.

Thanks Paul. I figured as much. BTW, I'm too fat for Recaros - It'd be the vehicular equivalent to Shamu in a speedo... :rotfl

I would hope the reupholstering would be significantly cheaper than new seats. The last I checked, just the seat pad from IOS was over $900! :ohno:

What about buying a used seat from a local scrap yard.

You can search for one using http://car-part.com/
Maybe you can locate a seat nearby and maybe go take a look at it.

Wow, $900 for pads!!! You know the tuck and roll guy I have used for my Z I thought at one point was a little expensive, but now I have to say he's cheap as dirt. I have replaced several sections for $150 bucks. I think given that you have the seats price around what new pads and leather would cost. Chances are anything you get from a scrape yard will be no better then what you have.

Does all the electric components on your seats still work?? If so recover them. Where do you live????maybe someone hsa a good tuck and roll guy for you. I have one in LA that is great.

Hello
I am moving to LA in a few weeks. (Still working on getting my car on an auto transport trailer rig.) Once I get to LA I will need some body work - mostly buffing out dents, scratches and making the roof paint nice and smooth and shiny (dull amd coarse feeling now), and replacing a turn light. The bumpers might need an actual paint job due to flaked off paint. Here in NOLA cost would be $500-1000.

I will also need some leather work done to the driver's door "armrest" leather (2 x 3 inch tear) and maybe the steering wheel (very minor tears). There are a few small tears in the front seats as well.

Will also need to find a mechanic.

Any reccs for the above greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Brx1,

Contact me when you get to LA. I can hook you up to an Infiniti master tech. Owners are former Infiniti Techs and both are well rounded. :dblthumb:
I have recommended their shop to fellow So. Cal Q45 NICO members and other forum members.

I'll make sure to bring my laptop Consult when I see you :)

I have a good person too and he has a tuck and roll shop and body shop right near him. Your going to find LA more expensive then NOLA, so be ready to spend more......but the work will be higher quality.

Email us when you get there and we'll which shop makes sense for the part of LA your moving too, it is a very big place.
