i just came over myself from the honda world..always owned hondas. but yea, its a bit more than the cover and switch...a hole in the front bumper, to the tune of 780 dollars, five hundred of which i have to come up with. and the possible rod knock as well...just not the stuff i should be dealing with yet in such a recent purchase...aaaaarrrrrrr!!!Focusedintntions wrote:well there's your first mistake...you have friends that have honda's...shame shame....lol
Sorry to hear about the bad run of luck....i know i've had mine so far this year too.....look on the bright side....engine cover, recline switch...minor things.
I had an accident that ended up costing about 26k to the insurance company and a 1k deduct to hit my wallet on a car that was only 4 months old.
i have a 500 dollar deductable, and its still not clear if he has insurance. my insurance company is going after them for cost, plus my deductable.i may be reimbursed, but who knows. i do have uninsured motorists coverage,,,Sentientbydesign wrote:Why are you paying for the body damage if someone else hit you?
Do you have uninsured motorist property damage? If so, I'd go talk to your insurance company.
Also, find a body shop that will "assist" you with the deductible. I've been offered that in the past and I've also gone to body shops and told them I don't want to pay extra, but I want you to fix that other dent (unrelated).
That's how I got my I30 painted. $800 for a complete new color with factory finish, because some dope made an illegal lane change. Insurance paid $3200, I paid $800, ended up with a new paint job and no more dents.

I have always made it a point to not buy one marque from another dealer's lot. My belief has been that, usually, someone who is satisfied with their current brand of car will trade in to the same dealer, so it stood to reason for me that a car traded to another brand's lot might just be a potential lemon... even if the car was picked up from a dealer auction, whomever first got the car in trade didn't want to sell it for a reason.toddnos wrote:Sounds like the Mitsubishi dealership screwed you
