If you would all be so kind as to respond to my situation. The problem I am having is that of the drivers seat rocking upon acceleration/braking. It is pivoting ahead towards the steering wheel, while I come to a stop via traffic light/ stop sign etc....I took the car to my dealer, who agreed with me that there is an issue, but there are no bulletins in their system relating to this problem. They checked the other 08 Altima coupes on the lot, and all had the same issue. I realize from being in the manufacturing industry that new vehicles will have quirks, and that this would most definitly be a seat supplier issue. Have any of you owner here experienced what i will call rocker/recliner movement with your vehicles?

(to explain better, if you hold the base of your drivers seat below your steering wheel, and then press with your other hand at the head rest, towards your steer wheel, the seat pivots roughly an inch.)

Thank you for your time, any feed-back would be appreciated.

Shan, yes this seems to be a common occurance by several members here. Most I believe are using the warranty to get the issue fixed. If we see a dramatic increase with this issue than I'm sure there will be a TSB up in the future.

Thank you for the reply, Saturday I had my car in for a tpms that hadn't initalized and asked them about the seat. They said there was nothing they could do at this point, due to there being no bulletins on the matter. And since it appeared all the models on the lot had the same issue, they were going to notify their contact. In the mean-time I am sending in a certified formal complaint to Nissan Canada asking them to address this issue. I feel that movement like that could potentially cause some issues in a vehicle collision, and that a potential liability in such a matter should be addressed for obvious reasons. I see issues such as these in my industry all the time, and am highly suprised a recall has not been sent out. Unfortunately maybe enough complaints have not been attained to address this issue??

LOL, no i will be sure to check for a few more issues that have been brought to my attention thanks to all the users here. I have been following the site for awhile now. I generally like to research a vehicle for approximately a year or so before I purchase (this is #5 now) so as to not run into any unexpected surprises. Not too much surprises me though after 15 yrs in the transport truck manufacturing business. I do mechanical repair, off the main assembly line now.. and since we now have a brand new truck model.. lets just say there are lots of growing pains. Thanks

My front driver seat has the same small rocking motion mentioned here. The first time I left it with the dealer for a week, and they said "nothing wrong". What they did say is that it is the same as the new ones they had in stock and that also had a slight looseness to it.

I was not satisfied with that, and left it with the dealer for another week. They move the seat back and forth and basically, the track made a bunch of grinding noise and stop all together. So, they are ordering me a complete new seat track...I guess all the stuff that the driver seat is bolt on....hope the new track will resolve the loose seat issue.

I just picked up my new V6 SE today and didn't notice the rocking when someone sits in it but when I drove by myself, the passenger seat rattles, damn, even though i read it here before but it's still annoying as hell. Is there any work around yet? it seems that the headrest rattle and the backrest rattle too

I will be contacting Nissan Canada this week by registered mail, and then likely phone. It is apparent that this will be a supplier issue that will take some time to address, so I will update later with my findings. Thanks again to all the respondents.

The dealer replaced the driver seat track last friday under warrenty. The loose track and the rocking motion is gone!. Great!

I have seen a fair share of complaints on this forum about loose and rocking seats. I think there is an inherit problem here which is higher than normal.

Don't take the crap when your dealer says: " there is no service bulletin on loose seats" " Your seat is exactly like the new ones in the show room" "yes, there is a bit of loosiness, but it is within factory spec" "Nuthin's wrong, must be your imgination...and so on...:
