It could be the BCM (body control module), the LCM (local control module), the switch panel, or a loose connnection. On the G50, there is an extensive test proedure, where it checks every button in the car, and gives positive feedback. I bet there is one on the Y33.

I have the homelink on the I30t. I bought a remote lighting control, to program the button to turn on the flood light. I never installed it, but though it was a great idea.

The cool part is, you can add homelink to any car. Just find a Chrysler or model with it in the junk yard. Buy the module for $15 to $20, then install it. run power from the lighted mirror. VOILA! instant Homelink! A very nice mod, I might say. Much prettier than those homely Sears controllers.

I have a question about the seat memory buttons... are they supposed to include the side mirrors? The buttons remember the seat position, but never move the side mirrors- are they supposed to ?

What button?

All i see is a button that says "cancel" and the switch to move the steering wheel.

Can someone PLEASE tell me how to program the damn seats? Instead of asking more questions or just ignoring the question altogether?

For the seat memory, engine off, transmission in park, key to on position. Button on steering wheel telescoping control is out (not depressed). Get your seat where you want it, press SET, then press and hold 1 until it stops blinking. Turn the key off. Repeat for #2 position.

I'm not sure that the 90-93 have the tilt down mirrors in reverse. I think you do the same sequence but with the transmission in reverse.

Once you get it programmed the seat memory doesn't work unless you're in park.

The cancel button is to lock out the automatic push-back of the seat when you take the key out, but it also turns off the automatic seat adjustment feature, so make sure that you have this button engaged and is not in the cancel position.

you can download the manual from somewhere, not sure where the heck I scored it but e-mail me and I'll send it to you via e-mail [email protected]

Sometimes my Q does that. And it squeals/squeaks when moving back. I think it just needs a relubrication. White Lithium Grease for that too?

Welcome to NICO Charles. Your problem could be something as simple as a coin/pebble in the track or lack of lubrication as Haitian King suggested. Four bolts (in the corners) and one connector are all that hold the seat in place so it's easy to unbolt it, tilt it back (or remove it), and check for obstructions and then lube the rails. It could also be many other things, i.e. relays, seat motor, under-seat controller) but a clean and lube would be a good place to start.

It sounds like you also may have been asking about losing the seat and steering wheel moving back and up when you remove the key from the ignition. If you've lost both these functions read the recent thread I've posted below.

zerothread/263523

Once you've reset the system then you can come back to this thread and follow the instructions a few posts above to reset the seats.

If you don't have a Factory Service Manual (FSM) you should. It's free to download at phatg20.net. Owners Manuals are also available for free download. See the thread started by Lino today in this forum for the link. Take some time and go to the Infiniti Online Mechanic forum and read a few pages of threads. You'll earn a lot about your Q and answer all your current questions. Good luck.

If the side mirrors have been moved, like say at a car wash or the dealer, pressing the memory button for YOUR setting,(usually#1) will return seat, steering wheel, and both mirrors to your preferred settings. So yes, the memory does move the mirrors, but only if they've been moved from the position your memory is set to.

Also, the tilt-down feature does not work if the mirror control is set to the middle position. IF you have set each mirror separately to the position you want when backing and have the control switch turned to the mirror you want to move for backing it will move the mirror in and down when you put the car into reverse, but only of you have the mirror control turned to the mirror that you want to move in/tilt down. When you take the car out of reverse, the mirror will automatically return to its original memory position. Each mirror must be set separately for the move-in/tilt down feature to work first (AFTER you have set the base memory position), and the mirror control must be set to the one you want to move. You can not move both mirrors simultaneously when backing, only the one you have the control turned to, and have already set it for this function.

Owner's manual explains it..
