seat covers....

hey well ths leather in my 240 is torn at the seems and i cant really afford new seats at the moment or near future, so i was wondering if any one knew of a good place to get good seat covers that arnt all cheap and tacky looking, ya kno?jus sumthin that looks nice...thnx

PS. does any one know where the phrase "pet peeve" derived from? lol thnx again

You might try the new Interiors forum, but most cheap "covers" are just that .. cheap. I've tried some on cars a few years back, after getting the all too familiar worn spot on the side bolster, and none of them stay on and they seem to wad up under you like you've got someone elses underwear on.

Ever think about doing it yourself? Or maybe if you know someone nice enough to make copies of the sections your seats are made from, and cut them out of new fabric?

I can't imagine it being too hard, just take the seat cover out, seam rip it, then use it as a pattern to make new pieces, then stitch them together. Could probably do the stitching by hand if you had to. (thats what I'd do, its more precise for me than a sewing machine)
