Seat belt wont retract

This is in an '89. My seatbelt light on the dash blinks, and the seatbelt will not retract forward. It stays in the locked rear position. It will move maybe an inch or less when you open or close the door. Any idea? Where is the seatbelt motor located. Where the pillar is next to the seat behind all of the panels near the floor? Thanks guys

Try it on the passenger side. If that side doesn't work, it's the fuse.

If it does work, then take it to a Nissan dealership and have them look at it...tell them "seatbelts are covered under warranty because of being required by law, right?"

The passenger side works perfectly. Buttery smooth.

And i dont feel like getting laughed in the face by the dealer
