Seat Belt Wiring Harnes Melted Outa Nowhere

i have a 91 240sx Se Hatch with with stock engine and transmission have about 137k miles on the car...problem is about 4 wires in the wiring harness that run to the seat belt computer under the center console/armrest basically got so hot they melted the shield and electrical tpae and even part of my carpet...no wiring work has been done in that area of the car whatsoever. any info as to how this could have happened, and i also need to know what fuse controls this harness i checked all the fuse boxes nothing says seatbelt computer. the wires are burned all the way to under the carpet as far as i can see.....please help i dunno how this coulda happened outa no where

might be under the life time seat belt warrenty. Contact a dealer about it.

where does the wiring harness from seatbelt computer go to? i need to disconnect it or i cant drive the car it will catch on fire....will contact the dealer about the warranty shortly

ok what i did to fix this was disconnected the wiring harness from the main seat belt computer under the arm rest and re taped up all the wires...HOWEVER now my spedometer, tachomet, and temp gauge and clock dont work! what the heck is goin on? are those wires spliced into the same harness farther down or something? b/c then the super heated wires i had befor could of damaged those one......please help

they are only warrantying the computer because they said there is no proof the computer fried the harness and not the other way around.....they said they have to put in a new harness and see if the computer fries it....the problem is THIS COSTS $677.77......which i am definetly not paying....so i am gonna put the harness in my self and see if the computer melts it.....is there ne way one of u guys can get me the part # for the seatbelt computer wiring harness...the guy at the dealer looked it up and only found the seatbelt track and a switch...he said the switch comes with the track....i dont think these are the right thing so i just wanted to clarify
