There are multiple old threads on this topic. Much like a lot of R50s of this era, my seat belts are slow to retract.
The warranty booklet for my '02 QX4 states that it is a lifetime warranty part. All the belts are intact without any tearing/ripping.
The dealership wants to charge me $120 for the "diagnosis". WTF are they talking about?
I had this happen on a Subaru owned before. The dealership made me pay their $110 diagnostics fee which was then paid back to me once the pre-tensionsers were found to be worn and replaced free of cost. The Infiniti dealership wants to charge me the money irrespective of whether the problem is tensioner (or anything within the seat belt warrantied components) or something unrelated (highly unlikely). These are the same monkeys who screwed up my ICC radar.
Have any of you gone through the same issue. Shouldn't the diagnostic fees should be either refundable or non applicable if its a warranty item? Should I try calling the Infiniti helpline?
