Seat belt light stays on?

When i have no passenger and my seat belt is on the red seat belt light remains on, any ideas why?

It's something I think they updated when they moved the belts to the pillar. Does it go off after a few minutes of driving?

No it doesnt, my z is a 1991 if that means anything to the situation.

Mine is too. Even if I don't buckle up as the driver, mine goes off after a minute or two. It's possible your seat belt controller is on the fritz. Do your seat belts lock like they're supposed to? Under heavy braking, tire skid, ect?

I actually paid closer attention to the light and it did in fact turn off after a minute or so.
