man it seems in almost EVERY thread you just keep getting owned and are a HUGE failure to the Nissan community..

as for the seatbelts, im having the same type of problem in my grand am, the selts dont retract good and are slow. i think there might be something wrong with the whole assembly or maybe just a spring or something? im really not to sure. hopefully people can ignore blacksrjdm and give you an answer!

Read the warranty book, they changed the lifetime warranty in 95 or 96 to 10 years.

But before asking these question of how, and why, take it apart maybe to see if you can figure it out. Maybe even document it for other?

EDIT IT WAS 2003................................................................................................................................................................................................

SB = Seat Belts - Useful life of the vehicle (for 1989–2002 vehicles), 10 years for 2003– up vehicles.

Ok, I wouldnt even have a clue as to what the warranty is on a Pontiac, or even why you would ask that here except to thread jack. But OUTTOWIN is correct. I have a 2001 warranty booklet here and it states that the warranty on seat belts is still lifetime. I also have a warranty booklet from 2004 and that states the warranty is 120 months/unlimited mileage. Then I did some more searching through some old boxes we have next to the old repair manuals and found a warranty booklet from 97. States seatbelts are warranteed for life, or lifetime warranty. Therefore, I would venture to say that if you have a Nissan pre 2001, Then your seatbelts are covered. I dont see where people could be reading my posts wrong, just here to help and alot of members on this thread specifically, should really calm themselves down, if we were in person, none of you would be talking to me like you are on here.

I knew some legit info would pop up there at some point.

When I read above that Nissan only covered auto belts it just didn't make sense, from a business standpoint. Auto belt assemblies are presumably more expensive to replace than manuals, so why deny the cheaper replacement?

Thanks for digging up that manual, blacksrjdm.
