Is it a good idea to buy a 95 SE automatic for kbb.com's price and then swap in a manual transmission? Or is it a better idea to wait until the school season to look for a manual 95 SE for kbb.com's price? Does kbb.com's price change according to the season? I'm asking b/c 240's are being out bought everywhere.

This automatic is asking for 5k.

If you want a standard transmission, then I would wait and buy one. Converting is a pain, IMO. I don't know how Kelley determines their numbers.

Try to buy below book.

These cars are pretty sought after now - so be prepared to pay a bit over book for a decent condition one. They are in a rare crowd of lightweight, sporty, "low priced" RWD Japanese cars of the early-mid 90's. Now the demand is seeming to outstrip the supply.

The auto>manual swap isn't horrible, but I personally wouldn't want to deal with the pain unless I could get a great deal on an automatic.

There are cars that fit your wants out there, just be prepared to pay a tad more if you want a car somewhat soon and the seller knows that there is a pretty big market for these cars.
