When the car is first started(cold) the HUD will light up and read 0 mph for a few seconds, then just shut off and stay off. Even after the car warms up, the display stays off.
Most people have their HUD work when it warms up, not me.
At first I thought it would be the capacitors like mentioned in various other threads I was searching through, so I followed these How-To's:
http://frozencore.net/240sx/240sx_speed ... ?id=158878
I did the test (heat up the caps w/ the solder iron to get the display to turn on). The test failed, I would click the car on, the display would light for a few seconds, then shut off. Even after heating up each cap w/ the solder iron, it would stay off.
I figured I would change the caps anyway, just as a precaution. After the new caps were soldered in, I re-tested and came to the same result. Car on, HUD on for a few seconds, then off.
Details:-car is a '90 w/ Redtop SR-used to be analog but switced to HUD(full dash w/ cluster, wiring harness, etc)-I replaced the two capacitors as recommended in the How To's w/ 1uF 50v caps.
I would love the get my HUD to work but can't find any other info about fixing this problem.
