How old is too old?

Ive heard the stories and seen the KA24DE do amazing things, start after months or years of disuse, run for 400k+ miles. But how many miles before it would be unwise to Turbo it. And strong as the KA is, id rather not trash mine, im way too poor atm for a swap.

Truthfully it is up to you. If you dont want to mess up your engine then dont do it. I am not saying that you shouldnt do it but if you dont have the money then dont.

Oil pump is good to 350,000miles. Anythign over 250k is probably way too far gone.Check compression. If motor sounds good and you get good comp #'s then go for it.

but yeah check compression, and check for leaks, have a good tune and the engine will probably last some boost.

mileage means nothing really, it depends on how the engine was treated in its lifetime.
