Couldnt find anything in the crossover parts thread and my swap didnt come with one so I have no idea what it looks like or where it goes. Any info or pictures would be appreciated.

The knock sensor is located on the intake side of the engine, underneath the plenum.

It presses into a hole in the block.

Also known as a detonation sensor, and has a connector that looks similar to a green plastic garden hose fitting.

Alright thanks! Next question: why dont I have anything on my uncut harness to plug into said garden hose looking thing?

I have a sensor that looks similair to the green connector one you described but judging by the harness length of the corresponding plug it looks like it threads into the oil gallery hole below the oil filter, so I assumed and then was told that it was an oil pressure sensor. Any clue why my harness doesnt have any connectors to the knock sensor you described?

The only way you get that plug is if you got the lower harness with your swap. If you only got the engine harnss, you'll have to make a sheilded wire and run it directly to the ECU.

Alright thanks float! My car was running great then it just killed on me and hasnt started since. I noticed it was throwing code 34 and I realized I didnt have a knock sensor. I read on here it pulls timing after a while of not having one, makes sense because when it died it acted just like when the CAS plug falls off. So I'm supposed to run a sheilded wire from the sensor to pin 23 on the ecu and the sensor grounds itself on the block correct? I also read about temp sensor failure shutting the engine down, anyone want to shed some light on that?

Mine hasn't run because of the knock sensor. Nistune told me the code, and saw it running on the knock map.

As for temp, the ECU assumes temperature and adjusts mixture. Could cause poor performance
