Hey guys, It's like 3 in the AM on the west coast and I've been working on my car ALL DAY, and I'm very frustrated. I'm gonna work on it all day tomorrow too before I have to put it off for another week. I should've sent the harnesses away to get done!

So I've already installed my engine w/all accessories, trans, starter, drive shaft, exhaust, a/c w/tig welded ka/sr spliced lines, re-fitted the heater core hoses, and a few other random things...(see my fmic install Q lol)

But it's REALLY hard to find complete wiring info, as it is readily available for s13 sr into s13 & s14 chassis.

Through the searching I've found out the info for wiring the ka m63 plug to the sr f4 plug, so I don't thinkthat will be a problem.

I also know that I have to extend the maf plug and o2 plug (&power steering?), but both ends of the o2 connector are on the sensor so I can't figure out where it wires into the harness to extend from. Similar issue for the maf sensor, it won't plug in anywhere on the harness. There are 3 fairly thick loose wires poking out of the harness right behind the valve cover (O2?) If I remember right, they were white, black & black).

I also heard that I have to do something with the plugs by/at the fuse box, splice in the ecu & fuel pump relays by the ecu, and windshield wiper motor & amplifier. Anything else I'm not aware of aswell. I still have the battery/fuse box part of the ka harness in the car, and I assume this has to be removed also.

Thank you in advance

wow, its really nice to see someone in the exact same boat as me. i've been pulling my hair out trying to figgure out what needs to be done about both the problems you are trying to figgure out.

first off, the o2 plug doenst need to be extended at all, atleast it didnt when i test fitted my harness yesterday. what your looking for is a fat grey plug right next to the plug that your coil harness plugs into, and if i remember correctly, i'm almost positive its white, black, black. so, that would be the missing connector you have.

i just started laying the wireing out and have been scratching my head about what to do with the old 2nd half of the ka engine harness where all the transmission sensors, starter wires and alt. wires are, and the f3 plug (thin white plug, somewhere around 6 wires) right next to the f4 that runs to the rear of the car...

oh, and i'm not sure if this is correct, but someone told me that the maf plug is supposed to be at the tip of the section that has the plug for the wiper motor. you'll notice that it only fits about half way around the motor. although i dont know if this is correct since the fsm shows it comming out of the loom for the cas, i have two harness's and one cut section and all three have no maf plug past the cas so i'm assuming its correct.

i'll be more then willing to share pictures and what ever i can after this is done if you want to create a write up.

Use the lower harness from the KA, just be sure to swqap the speed sensor from the KA transmission to the SR transmission. You will have a few extra plugs, but just tape those up to the harness. The lower harness never conncts to the engine harness so that's why you use the KA lower harness.

For the main engine harness, here's the pinout for the F3 plug under the dash..................it'll get you started................

Thanks alot guys,

Steve Lloyd- That's sweet how the diagram even has the color table on the right. Yours seem to be alot better than the ones that I had, as they seem to be missing a few things. I wanna hook everything up to use Nissan consult, since the s14 notchtop doesn't have a blinking led like that s13 engines do.For the "lower harness" are you talking about the trans harness? If that's the case I already have the harness all hooked up from the starter to the rear of the trans. I don't think that I had to change the speed sensor though, because I live in Canada, and my speedo is in KPH already, not MPH. Am I correct or do I need to change it anyway for another reason? This is the dash info I already had.http://www.dragva.com/eng/F4.html

Clovers525e- Yeah I would love to do a complete write up to have stickied in the sr faq section. If you come accross any other issues/solutions to the wiring PLEASE let me know. I do the same, I will post it here.

Thanks again guys...and anybody else in advance.

ok, theres two things i need info on, that isnt covered much at all that i can tell. i probably would be fine figguring this out if i had my fsm handy but i dont. one is the relay switch on the ka harness, diagram says eccs switch, whats that and do i need it. and the second is there is a brown wire on pin 18 that ties into a white clip, it says its a o2 sensor, egrc, evap purge, iacv and tps....? i talked to a buddy of mine today and he said the tail lights and fuel pump are run on the driver side harness. this clips into a harness that runs twords the rear of the car on the passenger side and is plug f3 to m63 in the fsm (f4 to m64 is the big white one) my best guess is this is the evap canister harness but i need someone to confirm this. my cars a 96 so, you know, obd2.

other then that everything has been going pretty smooth.if anyone might be able to tell me my i'm reading 112 psi on cylinder one, 210 on 2, 210 on 3 and 150 on 4 for compression that would be nice too. that first ones pretty low...

What engine are you putting in your zenki? A kouki or zenki sr?What are the colors for pins 1-8 on your f4 plug on your sr harness?

That compression spec must be wrong since a brand new sr has compression of 156 I think off the top of my head, and like 128 at rebuild spec. I'd recommend doing another compression test.
