OK, I read that thread through (unlike the people that post once a week "what vaccuum **** can I remove?"My question is, all of that stuff can be taken off the intake manifold correct?the brake boost needs a check valve put in place, but fpr and iacv should be ok with straight vaccuum/boost off intake manifold? I ask this because at first I plan on running the car with no intake piping/airfilters (and I may have to drive it somewhere to have those fabricated). I know the dangers of running with open turbos but besides that is there a problem? running blow through mafs too, btw.

Also, that thread promised pics that never came. If someone has some decent engine bay or detailed shots of their car running the bare bones vaccuum lines I would really like to see their routing, see how it cleans it all up, see where their lines are. Can someone oblige me?much thanks all.

hmm never thought about the brake booster. although i dont really know exactly how all that works, do you have to put a check valve in there?

I was told yes. Because it uses vaccuum and you have to protect it from da boost. I heard dat anyway. anyway my older brother suggested that the idle air control valve wouldn't work properly if ran off manifold vaccuum. true? false? and I'm running atmospheric bovs anyway so .... idle is prolly gonna suck.

The break booster has a check valve. You can replace the valve though, if yours is really old.

Yeah, the brake booster has a check valve in the line. So it should be okay.

The iacv should work on manifold vacuum. Hell mine is hooked up to the cold pipe.

anywhere they do visuals you would fail. hell, anywhere they did smog, you would fail. WV does neither, and my car is gonna be registered here (even though I won't be here anymore).

In PA I think it all depends on what county you live in. I don't know which have visuals, smog or both. I never had to deal with any of that around here.

I bet if you are out by philly, down towards the DC area, or up by PA... in the urban areas I'm sure its more strict. Judging from the ****buckets I see cruising in Greene county, right by my house, there can't be much of an inspection.

Would the bov's work with a line after the throttle body or should I keep those off a line taken before the TB

you want to take the bov source after the throttle body.

Woul you fail emissions just from the look of it or the smog coming out the rear end of the car?

If the rear end of the car is a worry then I bet you could filter it prematurely to the test.

Like putting a carbon filter in or a smoke stack filter to lower the emission fumes.
