This is my build that I've been working on, it's copy and pasted from another forum and some things have changed as I'm not going with a cage or bride seat yet, so far I'm under 2700 for everything including car
abubika;1484601 wrote:Ok well I just got on here so i'll sum up what happened before hand. Last summer I had an sr'ed hatch with 300hp and some goodies and ended up losing my license because 12 points on the record.

mom said turbo had to go or car would be tooken off insurance so I sold the pinktop sr to brad and got myself a vq, got 20% into and sold it and got an escalade v8, wasted a ton off money and it didn't work with the rhd without lots off $$ so I sold it. During this time I tore apart my car and realized there was some major rust/ separationg going on so my boss ended up giving me his shell.

The v8

the new shell

Now will post all of the progress since this

These are copy and pasted from my other thread

Figured I'd update this with some new stuffs.

Picked myself up an sr swap with a bunch of goodies like toda flywheel, new BC rods, and some other fun s*** for $1000

also got myself new radiator and v mount intercooler for the new setup.

including the shell I should be under $3000 for this entire buildSo the motor started going together today, I cleaned it up and b-rad did a nice hone job on it, put the crank and bearings in, doing the pistonrings tomorrow and finishing up the bottom end

just order this guy

Even more finished today, pistons and rods are all in

my bc rods

rad and downpipe from driftough.com

brad putting the last piston in and soaking the cylinder walls in newborn babies blood

bottom end complete

A decent ammount got accomplished today, best part is I'm still under 2k on the engine build including the swap :D

cleaning the head

New apexi headgasket

new BC springs and retainers

ARP headstuds

head is on and installing springs and retainers

Yup both my old car and new car are rhd

More update time

cleaning to put pan on

torquing headstuds

Bleeding and putting lifters in

Rocker arms and exhaust cam in

Both cams in

just need to do cam timing and put the valve cover on and start on the manifolds

Powered by max kit came in

Got a little progress today but was cut short because the power went out

cam timing done

Redid intake gasket and put it back together

need some rhd heater lines if anybuddy has some

also think about how I want to powdercoat my valve cover, my old one was pink(on brads motor now). I'm thinking about pink and blue candy cane

1 piece (only because I'm stock powered)K so finally did some stuff today, had some trouble having to bend the stock lines back, f*** those things

custom fit black box to work with mani

tubing came

what my fat a** will hopefully be sitting in

finishing up everything tomorrow to have it so I can drop it in the car sometime next week,

I NEED a stock sr20 o2 sensor (fat type) if anybody has one lmk

Just odds and end stuff to go on now

intercooler

nismo 3 puck

Took more sound deadening out today. No dry ice just beat the s*** out of the floor like it took my lunch money

put my flywheel and clutch on today, hoping to get my engine bay painted and throw the motor in next week

Almost all of the sound deading out, 1 rear fenderwell to go

Finished taking the sound deadening out, glad that s*** is over

painted my engine bay today, east coast gray

seeing whether or not I want to keep the version select bumper that came with the car

Got a little done today

Just did some little odds an end stuff that will be easier with the motor out today. Just need to get it moved over to the other building now. Didn't take that many pictures but here's one of where I tapped the waterneck for the coolant swirl tank

Today oil catch came in

got valvecover prepped for powdercoat, I kinda like the raw look tho

also changed out transmission and motor mounts to better stock ones because mine were toast

K motor is finally in the car, still lots to do but makes me feel better seeing it in, won't be around for the rest of the week so vmount and stuff will be next weeks project and atleast have the engine so it cranks

Polished the valve cover today and other little things

Well I just ordered the piping for my rad

I messaged mr Russell Walker about rad hose recomendation and he showed me this so I went with it, decent price and from what I've read from people using it is it's the best flexible hose for the price

samco superflex hose

Hooked a battery up to the car today and she cranks, it's nice to finally atleast hear something. Going to start mounting the rad tomorrow and helicoil the transmission mount holes because both on the passanger side are stripped.

Ok so I go to drill and tap the transmission mount bolts taday and the drill breaks, f***in a. So I got it to hold up just until I can move the car or figure out another option to fix it. I fit the rad and intercooler where I would like it but was stopped there because my welding skills aren't great so I'm gonna have brad weld it up once he gets a chance. Also put some interior back in and took the type x wing off

somebody buy this wing!!

Took the suspension off my old car and got most of the stuff switched over to my new car, both of the studs on my rear coil broke off so I'm waiting for Megan to send me new ones.

Also got a call saying they found the samco hose laying around so I'll have it in 5 days instead of 2-4 weeks

Yea you still have to run the Rhd harnesses and change the wiperstho

got rad in today, tacked for now, making plates so I can bolt it in/slash remove it next week

rad mount

rad in

just put this up cus I think it's weird, clip camefrom japan but it's a Canadian lady key?

samco superflex came in today, this stuff is durable and can bend sharp 90s with only the slightest kink

Bachery came in today, didn't get too much done today cus I was working on a customers car and had to leave early

Little bit done today

cut up rad

made up tube and support for tube

hooked up battery to check everything, everything worked great but my one headlight stays down, save that for later tho.cookie monster lights work perfect

Today was more of a figure out how I'm gonna do s*** day, trying to figure out best way to mount everything

made a new mount for the swirl tank because the one pbm sends with it is s***ty

test fitting intake to make sure it clears everything, engine bay is gonna be pretty tight and probably not look the best but function over form right

Well by function over form I mean it's not gonna look perfect, but by no means am I gonna make it look like bigfoots d!ck or something. This car will be getting a facelift once it gets running to make it look much less peasant

Decided I would learn how to weld today, didn't look the best but it works

got the rad mount so that it is removable now

it's a mess around my car but welded on mounting plates

made top bar and boxed it out for rad tube

in the car now and holders for rad welded on, just need to get nipples welded in the rad and inlet pipe welded on the rad setup will be complete and ready to move onto intercooler

More fun stuff today

got my bumper put on and my ghetto 1 license plate light wired in and brake got 3rd brake light an rear wiper working(leaving it on til I get aero)

then I moved on to putting my front wiper motor in and figured out the motor was toast, went to the giant rhd parts bin and found myself a new one and then I had to beat the inside because the trac was getting caught up, now it's in and I go to test it and the fuse blows, guess i'll see if it worked tomorrow

dark pic but this is the rhd parts bin (3 clips of parts inside)

Thats really good. I have a quick question though. How efficient is the set-up. I understand the pro's of having shorter intercooler pipes, but due to the angle of the fins on the radiator it seems as though air flow may be slightly limited....

So mom said you had to get rid of the SR, and you're replacing it with an SR? I tried to skim but didn't see any explanation. It's a long first page.

Basicly she said I had to get rid of it so I did and then went vq and decide I wanted v8 so I worked on that for 4 monthes while I didn't have a license. While this happens idealized my shell was trashed and my boss gave me the one I have now. Then after having hit so many roadblocks and added costs with the v8 swap my mom said just sell it and go sr again.

Basicly in shorter terms she got annoyed of sharing her altima with me and knew the sr would be done quicker then the v8

Yea it's my first custom build, I did my old car when I was 16 two years ago but it was just bigger turbo and hks manifold. I figured if I was going back to sr I might as well do something different for the hell of it.

Big plans for this car after it's done and once I sav up more money. Gonna have it make good power and look decent but still try to keep the build really cheap because I feel people pay way to much for stuff nowadays and if I got this far with 3k then it should be pretty decent with 6k put into it
