Have a friend start your car while you keep your thumb over the vacuum line from the PCV valve. Have your friend idle the car up to about 2500 RPM. Stuff the PCV valve vacuum line into the can of seafoam. The car will drink 1/4 to 1/2 the can then stall. Replace vacuum line on PCV valve. Let car sit for 5-10 minutes. Restart car. It will not want to start. When it does, it will chug a few times, and blow an enormous cloud of white toxic smoke out the tailpipe. It will then lightly smoke for 5 or so miles. Make sure you do this outdoors, and not in your garage. If you cannot find the PCV valve hose, you can use the brake booster vacuum line.tmorales509 wrote:ok i heard about seafoam and have a couple questions about it.1-is it safe?2-if yes, where can i buy it? 3-how do i use it or where do i put it?
Seafoam is not all that amazing. It just cleans out the intake fairly well. To keep your injectors clean, use Chevron with Techron, and add Techron concentrate to your tanks of gas.danielekfuj wrote:what is the purpose of this amazing seafoam product? does it clean your engine well, or extend the life of your injectors? and how can you extend the life of your injectors? b/c i am deathly afraid or having mine go bad and having to buy new ones and install them.
Seafoam has several uses. You can run it through the brake booster line, the fuel system, or put it in the crankcase. It generally is used to get rid of any build up that has occured over time. However, I would advise you to only use it through the brake booster line to clean out your Intake manifold and to not put it into the gas tank or crankcase. I use it on a regular basis and it does smooth out the idle a wee bit so I know it's doing it's job. IMO the only additive that should be used in the fuel system is BG 44K and the only thing you should use in the crank case is AutoRx.danielekfuj wrote:what is the purpose of this amazing seafoam product? does it clean your engine well, or extend the life of your injectors? and how can you extend the life of your injectors? b/c i am deathly afraid or having mine go bad and having to buy new ones and install them.
Try calling dealerships in your area, I'm sure one of them carries it.hsckris wrote:where can you get bg44k?
i agree. i usually turn the vacuum hose (well, i use the brake booster line) upside down and pour it in to control the rate. if it starts sputtering/stalling or w/e you can just put your thumb over the hose and it'll usually even the engine out.jmhalder wrote:... and my experience is that if you moderate how much gets sucked in, it wont stall, just kinda let it sip...
