Just went down to NAPA and bought 2 bottles of this, do I just add a bottle to the gas tank and crankcase. Also how long should I run it in the crankcase? I just bought some new oil for an oil change and just want to get it nice and clean in there before I change it.

John :

1)In crankcase 1 week prior to oil change, 2/3rds a bottle for smaller engines entire bottle for large engines. Its thins the oil out some so its best to add it to a xw-40 rather than a xw-30 weight oil. Most of it will evaporate out within less than a week. You keep it in longe,r some of the varnish it dissolved in the oil may re-deposit again in your engine.

2)Yes, you can just add a bottle to gas tank (if its full)

You can also take your brake booster line and run the seafoam through there. What you do is:

1. Remove brake booster line.2. Put seafoam in a cup(not styrofoam).3. Let brake booster line suck seafoam outta cup till it kills your cars.4. Let sit for around 15-30 min.5. Plug booster back up.6. Start car( dont stand behind car, it will smoke like hell and stink)

Let it run till it stops smoking, its burning all the carbon off your insides of the motor. You can repeat a few times if you want. Thats the way I did it!!

true slide good write -up on combustion chamber cleanout.

On thing item 3.I would stop the flow when it looks like the engine is gonna stall, stop for a moment, then keep on again, alwasy keeping the engines from stalling out (to prevent hydrolock).

You think that would cause hydrolock? I didnt even think of that happening. I just kept it sucking till the car shut off. I didnt even thank about that!!

Thanks Fred :)

My ears are burning.

That either means that someone's talking about me, or someone is giving out incorrect information about Seafoam usage.

Ah, both I see.
