I found this post helpful but noticed my engine's design is different than the pictures and want to make sure I found the right hose. how-to-seafoam-your-engine-the-right-wa ... 83-30.html

I've attached a picture from that thread, page 2. I think I found the brake booster and its hose in my car, however, my hose goes from the brake booster right to the engine. In the attached picture it goes off to the left. I can't find a picture of a J30 brake booster line. So is this the line? Do I simply unplug it from the PCV valve and dip it into the sea foam? hey its interesting.
so esentially are you wanting to clean out that black hose?
if you do that, how will it improve your brake system?
just haven't heard of this before so you must know somthing i don't.
if you can , please post more pics along the way.
thanks

I'm following instructions that I found at the nico link I posted. The hose, as I understand, will suck the seafoam into my engine, also you put some in the crankcase and then some more in the gas tank. I just can't identify the correct hose because they are using a 240sx on that link I think and the parts are different.

yes, thats the right hose, disconnect it from the brake booster and vaccuum will suck the seafoam directly into the manifold where you want it to soak in and loosen the carbonized material....put the seafoam in a small cup, put your finger over the hose and when dipping the hose into the cup, slightly slide your finger to allow the seafoam to get sucked up into the hose. You may need a second person to raise the idle speed to about 1500-2000 to keep the engine going.

OK, got the procedure done. Did one can through the engine (woops) and a half through the gas tank. It did smoke like crazy but can't help but wonder if that isn't just the seafoam burning off. Snake oil? Too soon to tell.

I can say that while it was smoking in the back I saw smoke coming from the left side of my engine (if you are facing it). I had smelled what I thought was gas coming through the air conditioning before and I suspect that what this seafoam test showed is that I have an exhaust leak near the exhaust manifold. Time for a new thread to see if that is a DIY.

BTW, it was fun smoking up a half mile of road Jed Clampett style.
