ok, so i agreed to help my friend change the valve cover gasket. we took the cover off and there is ALOT of old oil build up on the cam caps and valve cover. so i told him that we'll go to auto zone and get a few cans of sea foam and try and revailtize the car as best we can. so one in the gas tank, one in the crank case. we saved the last one for tommorow when all of the repairs are complete and my question is do you guys recommend pouring the seafoam down the throddle body or through the brake booster line? and anyone wanna highlight where to disconnect the booster line fome?

There is a writeup on how to Seafoam a KA somewhere, but I couldn't find it when I searched. Its was in someone's sig, just can't remember who...

I've never heard of anyone pouring it in the throttle body, so suck it up in the brake booster line. You pull the big black rubber line off the brake booster, it goes over the top of the engine bay with the fluid lines then comes down behind the intake manifold.

Get your friend to sit in the car and hold the RPMs around 2k while its sucking.

I didn't know you could use a whole can for each part. I was sure the bottle says 1/3rd in the fuel, 1/3rd in the crankcase, and 1/3rd in the intake.

OHHH DON'T PUT A WHOLE CAN IN THE GAS TANK!!! I've done that, the thing won't start until you drain all of the gas. And if you have a full tank of gas.... ohhhhh that's gonna be fun to get rid of all that gas lol.

I put a whole can in my eclipse that I used to have and it wouldn't start. It ran like crap for about 3 tanks of gas after I drained it. It's a very harsh cleaner that will stop the motor quick.

Just be weary. I won't use it again just because you have to be so careful.

well when they straight up tell you to on ly put 1/3 of the can in the gas they might have had a reason...but it does best when you run it in your intake...

Don't drive your car if you put it in your crankcase. It will thin your oil and you will spin a bearing.

1/3rd through oil cap(pour, turn on for 5 mins or less, turn off, change oil(maybe 2x)), 1/3rd gas tank, 1/3rd brake booster line(with friend holding to 2k rpm)

I did it this method and didn't notice a thing. No smoke like other have noticed and zero increase in performance. I guess it is possible that my car was fairly clean, but then again.
