i have a 04 g35 coupe, i like to seafoam my cars about once a year. this is the first for the g35. i put half in gas and half in oil. i let it run a few minutes and noticed it was idling at like 500 sounding like it was about to die. i reved to 3 grand and it dropped to 700 then bogged down again like it was about to die. i drove it around for about 15 minutes and didnt feel a mis or sounded like anything was wrong. i got back home put it in park and seemed to idle fine at about 750 or somewhere around that. is there anything i did wrong has anyone else experienced this? it seems fine now but it deffinatly did worry me

You'll be fine. Don't worry.

You can also put it in the intake. If you do use the vacuum tube on the back of the plenum by the throttle body. Don't use the one on the passenger side as you will only get the seafoam into bank 1.

Products like that are not necessary and are not recommended for use on VQ engines.

Really? As reliable as the VQ engine is, it is still a high maintenance engine being that it wears oil fast and eats spark plugs pretty severely. I don't know how it couldn't have some beneficial aspects.

I'm not sure if you're just saying that because you are the mod and it is a liability thing or if it is a personal preference.

I'm saying that because the manual says that...use these products at your own risk. If they do cause a problem, make sure to NOT tell Infiniti because you could void your warranty.

You won't have a problem with them. Infiniti doesn't recommend using most FUEL additives. However, many people including the techs will use some products.

There are some additives that can be harmful but I'm not a chemist. Q45TECH knows pretty much every detail of this and if he stops by he'd let you know. Or you can do a search, I think he's mentioned on here before.

My dealership uses a product like seafoam by running it through the intake tube.

You can use any fuel system cleaner to decarbonize the engine by having someone gun the engine and then letting the tube on the passenger back of the plenum suck it out of the container.

Im not sure if this is true or not but a mechanic at work told me not to run it through the intake tube because something platinium inside of the hose could go bad ( or something like that) i used seafoam all the time on my 300zx and it worked like a charm but i was just curios about the g35

platinum inside of the hose??

the only thing platinum that i know of is the spark plugs...it could react with the seafoam but hasn't been a problem for anybody I know.

The plugs are irridium tipped. Platnium would not last long
