i just wanted to know how difficult it would be to put a sr20de motor from a 96 se-r into a 95-97 200sx SE, basically if it would be strait foward or would we need new mounts and things of that sort. thanks for any and all responses.

It should be pretty straight forward. Since you have the engine out, it'd probably be best to get aftermarket mounts while you're at it, and besides that a lot safer (just in case) to at least get SR mounts. I would think the mounts would be the same, but you never know. Where's NISTECH? He knows this stuff most of the time.

Ok um... maybe i was too vague with this question. This it what my friend has a 96 se-r the whole car, he can get a SE shell, but would there be a problem putting everything from the se-r into the SE? Like Red_Det stated, would the harness have to modified in any way, and so on. Thanks for your responses :)

Wouldn't think so, just swap everything over. SE chasis same as SE-R.

A friend of mine did that with a classic sentra. He basically turned his Sentra E into an SE-R, minus the SR20DE. (He had full bolt-ons on the GA16DE, which made it still quicker than a stock SE-R).

However, there were a LOT of suspension differences. I think the power steering pump might have been different too.

Anyway, if you want, his email is [email protected]

Tell him Torry gave you his email, and you had questions about converting an SE into an SE-R, and what all is needed.
