A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Has anyone ever run Tokico's HP kit on the Classic SE-R's? It appears to be a set of four Tokico blue shocks with some lowering springs. It's stated that they drop the car 1.25"

Reason I ask is because my shocks are currently in various stages of crap, and the guy I bought the car from lowered the car by cutting the springs. These seem like a pretty good replacement, since I want to stay under 500 bucks for springs/shocks at this stage.

BTW I'm running 16" wheels that have 205/45 tires if I remember right.

Sounds like a decent setup. Any idea what lowering springs?

Assuming the springs aren't junk, go for it, the blues are a pretty good buy from what I've heard.

Don't know what springs they are. Tokico's own website only says:

Advanced Handling Suspension Kits from TOKICO improve both handling and appearance.

The kits combine either the HP series of performance non-adjustable shocks/struts, or the Illumina 5 position adjustable shocks/struts with a matched set of performance lowering springs.

The springs are manufactured from he finest alloy spring steel and are engineered to provide excellent handling without destroying ride quality.

....so who knows.

i am going with the same setup if their engineers match the spring rates with shock damping forces and stuf,. then, at least there is no chance of damaging a new set of shocks

Well I am not sure about the SER's but I bought a set for my 240sx and its hands down the best street setup I have yet to use on any car I have owned and daily driven (3 240's, 2 galant vr4's and a AE86). The best part is that I know they are reliable and balanced because tokico made the springs to match the struts. They gave my car a significantly stiffer ride than before, but its how a sports car's suspension should ride from the factory. If you want any pics of my install or comparison with the stock setup I did take some during the install. Just email me at [email protected]

That kit will be a decent street setup. Most prefer Hyper Co springs and AGX's. Thats the setup I run.
