Whats up guys? I'm looking to buy an SDS system for my redtop.I was wondering if the guys running this system are happy with it.Also if you guys know where I might be able to pick one up.I'm going to have it installed by someone here in San Antonio and am just trying to save myself some money by researching first.I read something about some magnets but that does not look like a big deal.Any information would be appreciated.P.S. Yes I searched. :)

i've run the SDS and for the price find yourself a used power FC. the SDS is somewhat hard to fine tune (at least on the car i was using it with). installation is easy if you're pretty inclined as far as electrical systems go. installing the magnets and building a hall sensor mount are the biggest pains to get right, because if your mount sucks you'll kill the hall sensor/magnets in a hurry. you also probably will have to change most of the factory sensors for the GM type that the SDS uses.

like i said, for the price of the full SDS system (with map sensor/coilpacks/hall pickup/air temp/coolant sensors) you can easily find a used power FC cheaper, and not have to rewire the whole engine bay to make it work. i just picked up an FC for my car for $840+shipping with commander. the SDS system i had bought second hand from someone for $775+shipping and took days to install and set a base map.

What I really like about the SDS is that the coilpacks come with it.I'm not too concerned about having to rewire it.The guy who is going to install is a whiz at Standalones. He has put an SDS into an SR already(seen it with my own eyes). If it was his choice it would be a Tech II or III but I dont have that much.
