Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I purchased a 2010 ex35 and within 1 month got rear ended. That alone was frustrating - getting in an accident that you can't do anything about in a brand new car. ! So, I end up going through insurance to have everything repaired. That's when things started going wrong. My first return visit to the body shop after they "repaired" my vehicle was to complain that my bumper was not on correctly. The tabs that hold the bumper in ARE NOT right! my bumper is now sticking out on the right side. They told me that they ordered the correct clips and nothing can be done, and this is just how the factory molded the bumper. Since the bumper is not flush with the rest of the car, they pointed out that the factory bumper on the front also sticks out a little unevenly, so I let this drop.

Two months later, I start hearing noises from my exhaust system. I take the car to the dealership to let them take a look.

It turns out they only replaced the muffler section and not the BENT pipes that are ahead of the cat!!! So, my pipes are too short and the hooks that hold the exhaust in place are all the way into the bushing (not correct!!) and are rubbing against a metal plate that is just past the bushing  .

So, now I need to call up my insurance again and file a complaint. This is not acceptable as I went with their "certified repair shop"

I also noticed, while the car was on the lift that they didn't replace my muffler with the 2010 EX one.....

To make a case, does anyone out there have a picture of the muffler? I remember seeing a shaped body on the muffler that looked anodized to me when I took a peak under there before this happened. But now the new one is steel and is a smooth body only.

If someone can just snap a picture of their 2010 exhaust and post it, that would be very helpful on my quest to have this issue corrected.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Site... and sorry to hear of your mis-fortune with your new Purchase.

Maybe somebody will snap a color Picture of their 2010 Under-carriage for you, so you get an idea of what OEM looks like.

In the mean-time, you could go to the Dealer and look on the Lot for a 2010 to compare your with. Just an idea.
