Ok, I just got this 1993 240sx and it has no radio or the mounting brackets or anything..So I need those (anyone who wants to get rid of it) But the factory harness is kinda there.. I went and got a scosch OEM adapter for it and when I went to look at the wiring tonight I saw the big plug was alright..it looked like all the wires where right in it, but it looks like someone has cut the factory harness out and someone else made an attempt at putting it back in.. But the big harness I think it has like 9 wires to it or something..but there is also supposed to be another one with maybe 6? wires going to it. Well, I have the 9 wire one but the other ones are a 4wire and one flat black plug with one wire in it and 2 wires are taped together (Not to where they make a connection, just to keep them side by side) I have pictures and I will try to put them up here..it is really stumped me and I am wanting to get my stereo in this weekend..someone help please..I know we have professional installers here... Thanks, Mav

Well, I hate to do this, but I searched for both "wiring" and then for "diagram" to try and find something as http://www.carstereohelp.com has gone to a "pay" site :(. I used to have a plethora of plug diagrams that can't be acessed anymore.

If you search for either of those terms, you should either find the info you need or enough to get you moving in the right direction. Sorry.

Ok Maverick... after an hour under the grueling heat of my garage and being cooked alive by 1200 watts of halogen lighting, I got what you wanted.

Harness - to - Deck - UsePurple - Purple - Rear Right ( + )Pink - Purple w/black stripe - Rear Right ( - )Red - Green - Rear Left ( + )Green - Green w/black stripe - Rear Left ( - )Teal (light blue) - Blue White (Active speakers probably)Blue w/white stripe - White - Front Left ( + )Blue w/yellow stripe - White w/Black Stripe - Front Left ( - )Brown - Grey - Front Right ( + )Brown w/white stripe - Grey w/Black Stripe - Front Right ( - )Red w/Black Stripe - Yellow - Constant Power/Memory Blue - Red - Deck Turn onRed Blue - Orange - Dash Lights/IlluminationRed Yellow - Orange White - Beats the crap out of me

My Alpine CDA-7998 only uses like 4 wires so the rest of the wires I got from matching up the adapter harness with the car harness. I also have a 1993 fastback so they should be pretty accurate.

Instead of trying to figure all that out. I just went to Wal-mart got some speaker wire and ran all new lines. Quicker your way..but I don't like the thin factory wire that comes in the cars.So I improved it. Reason why i had to re-wire is because my friend said he knew how to hook up an amp. Wasn't 5minutes until i saw smoke coming out of my CD player. Fried everything in my car(speakers) so pretty much had no choice but to rewire. What kind of shape is the car in?

You just going to put door and back speakers back in? Or are you going to have subs?

Well, all the speakers are in and I think I got the six wire plug hooked up right..I have 5 physical wires and only 4 hook up b/c the 5th one was a factory amp turn on..All I need now is to get a Kenwood wiring harness...and I plan on having subs but that will be in a few months
