That's normal. The brake rotor surface is bare metal so whenever you let it sit for a little while surface rust begins to form. The screeching is your pads bound to the rotor a little and/or the rust being scraped off.ItsEcko06 wrote:22k miles and same problem here. haven't checked my pads but after the car has been sitting and i take a drive they screech when i apply the brakes but soon goes away. its really loud and annoying until the noise goes away though!!
maybe that's whats happening with mine. it mainly happens in the cold weather...mrodrig2 wrote:That's normal. Similar things happen in cold weather... the calipers or the pads stick so you get screeching while the brakes are still cold.
what happened to that one guy who took his car to the stealership? any word back?Blackmobile wrote:my brakes are screeching like a banshee all the time now, at first it was just when i started driving but now it's all day even if i've been driving for an hour. and it's not that cold out around here, we're getting a pretty mild winter in vancouver this year. the dealership told me that i still have a decent amount of pad left that they dont need to be replaced yet. they blamed the weather for my brakes screeching
