screaming revving engine on startup

screaming revving engine on startup
i started my 2003 pathfinder this morning and it instantly redlined.i immediately turned it off and tried again and it did it again and i turned it off. kicked the pedal a few times and it started fine.the funny thing is we parked it last night with no problems. and this morning it made my heart stop.any ideas. this car does not have an accelerator cable., its electronic.i looked.DUHalex

Probably something wrong with the drive by wire system. I have no idea with that stuff. Cable was the way to go.

Going with the flow, most cars now are drive by wire.

Meaning there is no steel cable. The throttle body has an actuator on it that opens it. Say when the car is off, when you push down the gas, you're really not opening the throttle body.
