I searched, but all seem different from my problem. I have a screaching noise under the hood. It only does it under heavy torque. Bigger problem is that I can't get it to reproduce itself when I have it in neutral. It's not the transmission, I heard the noise when it was an auto and took it out and put in the 5 speed. Any suggestions would be helpfull. Or a way to diagnose.

try your belts, make sure they are tight and not slipping when you give it gas

All my belts are tight. The sound only shows up when I push it hard around 3k and up. If I let off the gas a hair, the sound goes away, and I still have power. I just can't drive it like I've got a pair, or I get that noise.

comes from the engine compartment? sucks that you have to be accelerating hard to make it happen. does it sound like it could be your driveshaft carrier bearing?

I can't say it's not the drive shaft, but it made the noise before I put the 5 speed in, so I would think if that was it,it would have been noticed then, but I will look in to it. Thanks.
