Washed my car this morning at BeWise Carwash in NY and am now sad to say that i have a ton of scratches all over my car. I used a foam brush to scrub it and even though i rinsed it out i guess there must of been a small rock or something wedged in there and it scraped all against my hood, my doors and my roof. My friend once told me that you can get the little scratches out with compound but i had no idea what he was talking about. Anyone got any idea's? There's so many of them I wanna see if there is any easier way instead of using a touch up brush.i'll post pics tomorrow, it's too dark out now

People think I'm dumb for washing my car by hand, but they are obviously rly lazy and don't give a about the their cars.

never use a brush to wash your car, always use a microfiber wash cloth or equivalent. as for the scratch remover, if you go to your local auto shop, there's stuff called Meguires Scratch X, that stuff will buff out minor scratches really well, just follow the directions on the bottle and you'll be good to go

um no, it's giving our .02 and feedback. if someone wanted to make the OP feel worse, there are a number of things that could be said. we were simply stating that getting scratches from a car wash is why we DON'T go to car washes. there have been topics before about hand washing and even the proper way to hand wash your car vs a car wash.

again... my .02

not trying to make a jab at the OP, just thought it was common knowledge about the brushes at car washes.

As for washing it by hand, I recommend turtle wax brand car wash soap and one of those square sponges with the outer layer that looks like sheep wool I guess lol I put the soap in hot water so when I'm washing with it, it breaks down the bugs and dirt and bird poop faster. and gives a pretty good shine. I wont go into my whole car washing procedure unless someone asks, but it works well for me

so there is my other $0.02 now giving me a combined total of $0.04 worth of good and bad advice

I am done getting all flustered over scratches from washing it. I do mine at home except for the very few times I will take it to one of those touchless car washes and no matter what I do I still get little scratches. It used to really bother me but not so much any more.

For me the key is having a good coat of wax on it so when you are a good 10-15 feet away from the car you don't notice the scratches.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. From your sig and name I am assuming your car is black. No matter what you do you will get scratches. If you would want to get them buffed out, I would do it after a year or so when you have a lot of scratches on it to get more bang for your buck. I don't see the use in spending a couple hundred(assuming that's the going rate for a polishing job, which it probably is) when a few months after you will have more scratches.

I have tried tirelessly to not get scratches on mine and it just happens. I have never seen a black car that does not have the micro-marring on it. Like I said I think the key is having a nice coat of wax so when you are not really close to the car you do not notice the scratches.
