Hey everyone. I have a 2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE in silver (K12 color code).

I grazed the area on the top of the rear right tire against a painted pole. The scratches are not deep. According to what I've been reading, it appears that the clear coat is scratched?

What are my best options?

Here are 2 photos of what it looks like:

Thanks so much in advance!

Welcome! Try a nice polish and compound first to see if you can get some of the surface marks off first. You will be surprised. If not then, I'm sorry it may need to be repainted.

Thanks for the reply. What kind of polish and compound would you recommend? I am not very savvy at all with cars :(

Try a medium rubbing compound. You can get it at any auto parts store. Ask for the compound and explain or better yet show them the extent of the damage and they'll help you out!

Lol this is not bad at all, I can remove it for you in 5 minutes if you were in the Sac area. Buy Meguiars scratch x and see if it works. Judging by the pictures, it looks really shallow. I say claybar it, then use scratch x. If that doesn't work, try sanding it then use Meguiars polish and ultimate compound (if you have a buffer the scratch will be gone completely). Hope that helps!
