I had a VERY BAD car wash experience which left scratches my instrument panel and custom dash. I needed to buff these scratches out. I tried a few things for the auto store, but nothing worked right and the last one left me with a lousy hazy.

I remembered using something a few years ago on my Treo to get a scratch out, but could not find the bottle. After searching on Amazon, I found it -- Novus! You can get it in a "kit" which includes a cleaner (#1) , fine scratch buff (#2) and deep scratch buff (#3). It works great! Smooth buff and no haze. It even removed the haze left from the other product. If you look on ebay, you can get the large 8oz set for the cost of the 2oz set on Amazon. (Definitely under $20.)

It works on anything with a clear plastic surface (ex. ipod, watch, electrical display, cell phone). In fact, it's what those "experts" are using to repair Ipods.

If you have some deep scratches and the #2 isn't clearing them, try the #3. Just make sure that you follow it up with the #2.

I have had excellent results with Meguiar’s PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish. I first tried it on my Maxima healights and it worked like no other product. It made them look almost showroom new.

You can read about it here:

Found it at Wal-Mart.
