Hey everybody!! Im a new member here and I need some advice about my paint.

It's been a month since I got my '07 OB 6MT coupe and I love it like no other. Today I noticed some thin (not so deep/ not the kind u can feel when rubbing your fingers across them) scratches on my trunk. The ******* must have spent a good 5 minutes scratching away at my trunk because they're all over the place. They're pretty noticeable since it is a black car. I try not to obsess about it much but I really want to try to wax and polish it off somehow. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried Quixx?

Dunno what its called in the US but Meguires 'Paint Cleaner' is the BEST stuff I've ever used. Removes surface scratches, water marks, whatever.

I've used Scratch X (got it at Autozone) for acid rain spots and did great. Haven't tried it on light scratches, but will.

I used to have a black 97 cobra coupe and the best stuff I found was Zaino's swirl and scratch remover. I tried a bunch of stuff for swirls and Zaino was the best that I found. I now use all of their paint care stuff.Good luck!!

If this is your first black car make sure you take care of it. You've got those swirls fro most likely carwash. You have to be really carefull with what you are using(towel, etc). This is my 3rd black car. I had the same with my first car then I asked questions read bla bla bla.I realized it was al along me. The way I washed the car the thing I used to wash the car was just wrong. I still love the black but sometimes it is a pain in the b.....even after I learned how to handle black paint. But if I had a chance to pick another G35 sedan would go with black again.

I use a porter-cable 7424 and Pinnacle XMT 360 for light scratch removal. Then follow up with a good wax. You also have to use the correct pads on the 7424..

It's a good investment... You can look up autogeek for more info.

(I am not associated with autogeek, pinnacle, or porter-cable... it's just an excellent tool for this sort of thing.)

Definitely use zaino to seal up the paint!

Do the steps...wash with dishwashing soap, clean with a clay bar, wash with zaino, wax 2-3 coats min, and finish with the protector spray. It will take you all day, but your car will resist scratches and road filth.

You really need to clay the car before wax/polish. It removes the embedded crap in your paint. I didn't think it would make a difference either....but it definitely does!
